Petition against the Tornado of Ideas

April 2010 Thursday the 29th

The Young Conservatives of Texas at Texas Tech are holding a petition against the Tornado of Ideas, as we feel the statue does not represent Texas Tech principles or ideals. Furthermore, it was a waste of $142,000! The statue is supposed to be made up of conflicting ideas that represent America, instead there are books about Hitler and Mao in addition to many other outrageous works included in this "art". Our masked rider mascot is featured sodomizing a police officer. We want it replaced with a statue of Rick Husband, a Tech Alumni who died in the shuttle Columbia disaster. If you want it removed, or are just outraged the school spends OUR money for stuff like this, this page is for you.
